Tears roll slowly
down her raw
red cheeks,
mixing with the rain until
you can't tell which
drops are tears
and which drops are from above.
As she kneels
in the mud
her dark eyes
locked on his
name engraved in
the cool, gray marble,
wondering where he went wrong.
Soaking wet, mud-covered,
she slowly rises,
as she stands ankle-deep
in the mud by his grave,
rain mixed with
the freshly-turned dirt,
she cries
out, wondering
why.
and for the first time
she's standing
alone.
But yet, somehow
she's stronger than she was
when she stood small in his shadow,
her dark eyes
lock onto his
name, so perfectly
engraved into the marble,
and into her heart.
And finally she speaks
for the first time
since he'd left
softly she whispers
to the dark, ominously
pouring clouds
but also to him,
Goodbye.
and she turns
and walks away,
just like he did.

If Heaven and Hell decide
That they both are satisfied
Illuminate the NOs on their vacancy signs
If there's no one beside you
When your soul embarks
Then I'll follow you into the dark

Reminds me of writing crap on our calculators in school too. But I think we could only get a couple letters. Like a, b, c, d... umm can't remember the rest.
